Ukrainian fishery products conquer foreign markets

Declared exports of fishery products in the first half of 2016 more than 7.5 million US dollars, which is slightly more than 3700 tons of fish, seafood and ready-packaged fish products (some of these products – products of processing of imported raw materials).

Market participants argue that this is not the whole export volume, as a significant part of the fish “comes” abroad, bypassing the declaration. Determine the volume of such exports is quite difficult, because precisely determine the amount of undeclared fishing is also not possible. In Norway, the figure of 20% is considered normal undeclared fishing, in Ukraine this figure, according to experts, at times much more then “Norwegian standards.”

One of the key factors in improving the export component of the fishery products could be domestic aquaculture, but that the state should make certain steps to motivate its development.
